Annies Canyon is on the west shore of Lake Powell at mile 84. It lies at the southern end of the Waterpocket Fold, the long, narrow fold of rock that extends northward 100 miles through Capitol Reef National Park. A narrow fin extending from the left or south wall guards the entrance.
Annies Canyon forks after about half a mile. The right (north) fork leads to a broad, flooded amphitheater adorned with hanging gardens.
